Ready for Halloween?

By the way loyal Bilbert fans, I will be getting pictures of his trip to Northampton really soon...so don't give on him just yet..he's just having way too much fun with Anne's kids!!

On another note...etsians are busy gearing up for halloween and there is a lot of Halloween stuff up!! From the scariest, to the creepiest to just plain spooky!! So my team, the "otherlings", usually have monthly challenges and this month's challenge is to make something Halloween-y.  I finally finished my something Halloween-y but.. now when I look at him, he doesn't look that scary, creepy or spooky.  He looks um..mentally challenged, a little silly and a tad happy..but he will do!  Despite his look I personally believe he is a soulless evil monster out to chomp your brains out!! He has a set of teeth many of you may envy!!  Someone told me he has a sexy upper lip...to me it looks like someone punched him in the mouth! Check him out!

mmmh! maybe if i'd made his teeth sharp he might have looked scarier...note to self for next time!  Overall...I still LOVE how he turned out.  He cracks me up!!

{ GREAT GIVEAWAY } Doodle Dollies

Guess what time it is? It's time for another Etsy shop gift-away!
Our little man has another 2+ weeks on the ol' egg timer so we're counting down the days with giveaways! Today's Canadian talent is Marina from Doodle Dollies.

I first discovered Marina and her Ottawa shop during my {Friday Finds} MONSTER edition; I stumbled upon her non-scary plushies and became an insta-fan. Marina grew up in Kenya with her 5 siblings and 68 cousins!! They had no toys to play with which inspired her to start sewing and sewing she did...

Who doesn't love a plushy with a sense of humour?

I guarantee you won't find anything like these on Wal-mart shelves; all Marina's creatures are made from fleecy/ soft materials making them oh-so-snuggle-worthy. And not only are they super cute & cuddly, they're also a super sweet deal.
And there's no sweeter deal than getting one for FREE!! Doodle Dollies is giving one special SaigeWisdom follower a plush bunny of their choice! Put your hands up in the air, put your hands up in-the-air!

1. Comment below telling me which Doodle Dollies critter is your absolute fave and either (a) who'd you gift it to or (b) what you'd name it. This is MANDATORY.

2. For a bonus entry follow the Doodle Dollies' BLOG... it's ha-larious, trust me. Just make sure you come back and post a 2nd comment telling me you're now a stalker her traveling monster.

3. Earn yet another bonus entry by following SaigeWisdom via Google Friend Connect - leave a comment so I can return the favour.

4. You can also befriend Doodle Dollies on Facebook for a fourth chance to win.

5. If you really want to get crazy, post this link on your Facebook wall and let your peeps know Saige Wisdom is hosting an entire month of Etsy gift-aways - once again get your butt back here and let me know you were in the sharing mood.

Simple Simon.

** Contest closes Thursday, September 15th @ 8:00 PM {PDT}.

** Winner will be selected using random.org & announced during our {Friday Finds} feature.

** Giveaway is open to Canada as well as our good friends south of the border {USA}.

** Please make sure I know how to contact you should you win: becoming a SaigeWisdom follower is the easiest way.

Sightseeing in Oxford - Part 4

This is the Ashmolean Museum

First thing you see when you go into the museum is this chappy on a plinth. He looks kinda chilly standing there to me.

This is the human figure gallery on the ground floor

English Stumpwork in the Textile Gallery and a Norse Runestone dedicated to Father, Mother and Sister

These are some early examples of money. I don't fancy carrything this around in my pocket

This is the museum's Japanese teahouse and a Georgian dessert table

Now this fella has the right idea

This one's a bit moody

*phew* its a long walk to the Pre Raphaelite gallery but its worth it to see this stunning painted cabinat and Persephone

Sightseeing in Oxford - part 3

We went to explore the Science History Museum and I got to make a fancy hat too!!

We went to the Eccentricity Exhibition at the Museum of the History of Science

Lots of Steampunk goodies

We did the activity page, match the bio to the person and invented a clockwork pony grooming system

This is the activity table. I made a fab hat and the lady running it took two photographs. One for themselves and one for me!

Off to the Ashmolean, Pitt Rivers and Natural History Museums now. What larks!...

Sightseeing part 2

This is a continuation of the pics send by Bilbert from his sightseeing adventure...

"Hi Everyone...while sight seeing I went to explore the castle complex

This is Oxford's Mal Maison Hotel and Complex. Its build around the old castle and if you want you can spend a night in the dungeon room

They are currently hosting a display of photographs from around Britain. This is a huge map you can walk on

Some of the Photographs on display, including the White Horse

I even got to ride a painted rhino!!!

Goodness, I'd better keep to my good behaviour of I might end up here

Oh dear! look what a mess I've got myself into

Sightseeing in Oxford City - part one

Hey blog readers.. this message was sent a few days ago and i've finally got a minute to update you with Bilberts latest adventure.

"Hi everyone, Naomi and I went sightseeing just the other day and I had a blast!
This is Bonne Square which has a war memorial and some beautiful bronze book statues

I found this shop selling lots of Britishing themed goodies and a stunning floral display

Oxford is full of little alleyways full of interesting sounding places

......and beautiful houses

not to mention architecture. I think the sandy stone goes very well with my colouring

This is the Martyr's Memorial in St Giles. One of them is Bishop Hugh Latimer, Naomi's ancestor
